Tax Health Plan raised over £10 million
Last year, HMRC targeted Health Professional, such as doctors and dentists, who had not paid enough tax. They have now revealed that this voluntary disclosure scheme raised over £10 million from over 1,500 disclosures, including a payment of over £1 million by an individual doctor!
HMRC targets those who aren't VAT registered.
HMRC is still on its campaign to raise revenue by targeting those who owe taxes. This time it is VAT that they are focusing on. The latest campaign, launched on 6th July 2011, focuses on those trading above £73,000 turnover but who have not registered for VAT.

IR35 – Too early to start the wake now

HMRC to name and shame tax defaulters
From 1st April 2010 HMRC will introduce new legislation which is designed to standardise powers, deterrents and safeguards across the UK Tax system. These include Compliance checks, new penalties, publishing the details of defaulters and late payment penalties for PAYE, NICs, CIS deductions and Student Loan deductions.
